Wedding Marriage License Information - Massachusetts |
Click on a state below to view general information about how to obtain a marriage license in your area. Please keep in mind that each state sets their own marriage license regulations, and in some states, certain marriage license requirements are set by each city or town. OurDreamWedding will keep this information updated as often as possible, though we also recommend that you call your County/Town Clerk for more detailed information and to get specifics on exact requirements in your area. When calling your County/Town Clerk's office, remember to ask about the license fee and identification requirements. OurDreamWedding does not list the fees for licenses in each state. |
Massachusetts marriage license requirements:
In the state of Massachusetts, men and women are required to be at least 18 years of age in order to obtain a marriage license without parental consent. With consent, boys may be granted a license at age 14 and girls at age 12. If under 18, a court order from a probate or district court where the minor resides, is required. Both residents and non-residents of Massachusetts must apply in person. A blood test for venereal disease is required and a medical certificate must be obtained. There is a 3-day waiting period required before obtaining a license in Massachusetts. Check with your county for more information and to inquire about the current license fee.
